Is Dublin, Ireland as much fun as it seems?

I'm thinking of visiting Dublin this spring, while I'm in London to meet with a rep. I love Irish accents (!) and it seems like a great city, but none of my friends have been there. Is it worth the side trip? If so, how many days (up to one week) would you recommend?

I would say YES, but mostly if you were into:

1) Drinking pints of Guinness at the local pubs
2) Eating good hearty Irish food
3) Visiting Ancient and historic castles
4) Visiting museums
5) Strolling through the elegant Georgian style streets of Merrion and Fitzwilliam squares
6) Shop till you drop
7) Nightlife / Dancing

It's not as much fun as Northern California/Lake Tahoe...

Stay in center city.Lots to do and see. We're planning a 2 week trip in September.

Sure. Dublin is worth the side trip if your not planning on returning to Europe from another while. Way not go for 4 days or so.
PS-your pic is pretty

I lived in London for 5 years and travelled extensively throughout EMEA. Dublin is very nice... but there are many more places to go for a side trip. If you've never been to Paris...The Eurostar(train)is great (3 hrs) city center to city center.. Great art, restuarants, sights ...much more than Dublin. Dublin alone 2 days.. countryside is more charming.

I had 22 characters to work with
only if you have a big green harley

Don't go to the Burger King. Yuck. Dublin is better than France. You just can't beat the Irish they are halarious! Very nice, and there is also alot of historic sites to see in a short time. I hope you like beer ;)
