dublin is a good city to live.

Pros:
- Traffic is managable if you travel little early and don't move into town center daily.
- Salaries, careers will have better prospects here but again it depends on your current work profile. IT industry are in plenty had economy / spending power of people increases and hence business man also makes better earning over here.
- Live music, comedy gigs etc
- few options to join sports but still some thing is better than nothing again all depends on what facilities you have
- great rail connectivity
- good university i.e. trinity for education of family members

Cons:
-Town-centre traffic is chronic. There was/is a crazy one way system that routes everything over a single bridge, so rush hour in town centre can be a total mess
-Amenities very limited - if compared to other larger cities in europe like paris, or USA. There's only so much entertainment a shopping centre can offer really...
-'Culture' very pub oriented, and imho there seemed to be shocking levels of alcohol consumption and drink driving
Probably beacuse of this, the town centre is very rough, you wouldn't feel safe walking round there at night cos of all the drunks shouting and bumping into everything
-Rosses Point and Strandhill are nicer, but very quiet and both around 5 miles from town.
-Takes a long time to build up friends - the town is quite 'cliquey'

It's expensive to live in; the cost of accomodation is huge;
The public transport system is not brilliant; the traffic is awful.
On the plus side - true Dublin people are a joy to know; the night life is amazing; taxi drivers know everything; the police are lovely;
there is so much to see in the city on your time off, you will never get around it all! It's a multi-cultural buzzing city and I love it.

I've lived in Dublin most of my life but I have travelled and lived in many places around the country as well as abroad like Australia and New Zealnd. I love Dublin, I can never seem to stay away for long, even when I get itchy feet and go travelling (the old Irish wanderlust!). What these others said is all true. Basically if you're an outgoing and fun person you'll really love it here. It is expensive to live here compared to most of Europe but salaries usually reflect this. If you're a recluse and never go out you'll hate it here. That being said there is loads to see and do even if you're on you're own. The best way to meet people when you move, I find, is through whatever job you're in. That's how I've usually made friends everywhere I've gone. Hope that helps.

don't mind the bad ans Young Dublin is a great place to live in like all other city's its got good as well as bad but the good out weighs the bad and the dubs have a wicked sense of humor so go for it

your only young one is a great place but so is any city you can always move i lived there 2 years party like hell but has got expensive and crowed

You are going to have to consider your own qualities first before you move to Dublin, and these qualities really should include patience, a good sense of humour, and an appitite for a very busy night life too.
Dublin is a very busy and loud city mostly 24/7, you will need to meet people you can trust, and be happy to spend your free time with. I think your best way to get about the city is to find yourself a bicycle. and good quality Lock and Chain too, but you will save money because travel costs are expensive, as is the general cost of living.There are plenty of places to go if you just want to have a few quiet moments to yourself too. No. Most people live there because they work there.
Pros: Great nightlife

Cons: high Crime rate, Very very Expensive ( like Newyork Expensive), Dirty, Cold, Wet, Too many French.

Don't Go for more than a few months.
