Gay or lesbian unions are not legally recognised in Ireland. Sorry.

Trouble understanding the accents? You might initially.

Yes, there are places where it is really as it looks on the telly, and then some.

Great things about Ireland:
People are largely very friendly.
People are learning about decent coffee!!!!!
There's no smoking in workplaces (including bars and restaurants).
The place is a hotbed of the arts, and artists can help tax exemption here (but it isn't automatic).
Still lots of rural areas.

Some not so great things:
Some people are still old-fashion in their outlook and very suspicious of 'alternative' lifestyles, so if you do come visit (which I would strongly recommend before actually committing to live here), you and your partner should be discreet.
The cost of living is going through the roof.
The infrastructure is still way behind, especially in the west of Ireland. I rely on wireless broadband because there won't be cable broadband in my area for a very long time.
Drugs both legal and illegal are become something of an epidemic.

No, Ireland does not recognize same-sex unions nor civil unions.

indigogirl1976
Gay marriage is legal only in Northern Ireland. You can have a civil union here. You will have no trouble understanding the accents here....like anywhere...you will get used to them in a few weeks...jsut ask people to speak slowly. Us Irish people do know our accents are touogh. Ireland really is quite rural...in paticular Northern Ireland. The republic of Ireland is quite overdeveloped in areas and the north is gettting like that but there are still mant beautiful and peaceful coastal areas. The best thing about Ireland is the people....we are a friendly bunch and will make you feel at home...its a very social environment too. The weather takes a little getting used to and it is expensive to live here but its a great place!

Goanna
Gay marriages in Ireland? You would have to check the Irish laws etc.
1.Most cases yes
2.Anywhere where it's peaceful
3.In any country in the world that has a coast you do what you described.
4.Magical

gay marriage isn't legal but it probably will be eventually

1) if you go to cork yes you will have trouble (i cant even understand there accents and im irish) but if you go any where else you will understand them. it might take a bit of getting used to but you would be able to understand them
2) i'd say in or around kildare or wicklow (close to the city but still not in the city)
3) parts of it are (mainly the west and north west coast)
4)its a nice country with nice people!! (not much else going on lol)

SIMONE
are you a gay Tyler? well it doesn't matter because you are a human being and i don't hate human beings.

OK to the question-
1) well if you are a Canadian, a Lil bit
2) northen island
3) well if Ireland has been voted the best country in Europe beating Switzerland, then yeah, it is a beautiful place.

sorry, i am not an Irish.

do mail me

bye
