Is Irish folk music dead following the death of Ronnie Drew?
I was very fond of Ronnie Drew r.i.p. he was a gentleman and to me his music was traditional Dublin music. Alas we all move on.
There are plenty of great traditional Irish musicians out there after all music is in our blood! It will never die.
The Chieftains, The High Kings and lots more.

The music lives on even after Ronnie and Luke have passed away.
It's wonderful to have all that black & white footage in the archives.
Thanks for directing me there.

Far from it. I think it might have gone back to its roots again, and what with all the influences from other countries flooding in, folk music is fermenting away, and in another 10 years we will have some exciting stuff indeed. If not already, now that that I think about it - have you seen the film Once? If not, check it out.
