The whole country has had an increase in gang violence in recent years, but Limerick has a much lower crime rate than Dublin. Don't let "stab city" scare you too much, there was only 1 fatal stabbing there last year and 10 in Dublin. |

There is a particular estate in Limerick city that is constantly on the news and seems to have a lot of problems. That doesnt necessarily mean that the WHOLE of Limerick is like that. To the snobs that answered 'No' etc, take your noses out of your arses and stop tarring everyone with the same brush. There are estates in Dublin, Galway Cork Limerick Belfast etcetc etc etc that are no go area's. But there are also area's that are lovely places to rear a family. Just make sure you do your research on an area before you move to it, but I'm sure you'll be doing that already. Any more questions you can mail me, you'll be guaranteed an un-biased answer from me. |

Yes, it is a fantastic thriving city, plenty of amenities, activities, cinemas, etc etc etc.
True it does not get great publicity but that is because RTE television want to keep Dublin off the limelight for crime...therefore Limerick gets slated every time there is an incident. There is plenty of great schools and the rural villiages, such as Adare, Boher, Annacotty etc etc are beautiful, full of friendly people and very safe.
Although I must admit there is certain areas prone to trouble...a few housing estates close to the city but you get that everywhere. I think it is fantastic for family life. |

in the city or the countryside. if the city well then your family will grow up to be murderers or drug dealers and get a good education on how to stab people and to steal a car. but the country side is lovely. there a bit like chalk and cheese really |
