Neither. It's in western Ireland. It is in the republic though, if that's what you mean.

Galway is in the west and i live here in salthill by the Atlantic ocean.connamara is just 5 miles out the road from me and is beautiful.trust me on this.Galway is on the west coast of Ireland.

Have a look at the map - it shows Northern Ireland and the rest of Ireland, and you will see exactly where Galway is, on the west coast. Better still, come and visit and see for yourself.

Hello Carrie, Galway is in the far west of Ireland and has the Atlantic Ocean beating on its shores and washing Galway Bay with two Tidal flows every 24 hours, and it is placed in Southern Ireland. I hoped this helps you out with your query about my home town...Good Luck now...Tony M

It's on the West coast, and includes the region of Connemara and the Aran Islands.

Galway City has a nickname: Town of the Tribes. Can't remember why this is, but it is a tribal kind of place alright. In a nice way.

It is a beautiful county. I spent my summers there as a child in the Gaelteacht learning to speak Irish. The people are lovely. It is in the centre of the west coast of Ireland.Beautiful beaches whipped by the atlantic ocean.

Galway is in Southern Ireland. A lovely place to visit. I stayed in a hotel called the Lord Gregory it had a brilliant Italian Restaurant.
