What recession?

This isn't a recession. During the 1980s, when if a family had a car they were doing well, if you could get your own home by the time you were 30 you were doing well, when my mother didn't have the cash to buy herself a pair of tights, that was a recession.

I would hardly call these days a recession. More like a reminder to stop throwing money around.

i sure hope so, i was let go from my job and im finding it really hard to get another job. :(
But i guess as a small country , we depend too much on external factors that we have no control over. Still, maybe the govt should have foreseen that the good times wouldnt last forever.

The answer to your question is No. The EXPERTS? reckon 2 years but they have been totally wrong about everything else, in fact, my dog Shep would have made better predictions. The problems with the experts is they are all working for financial institutions who are paying them to tell us all bullshit. The realism hasn't hit Ireland yet - it is really going to get much worse when the personal reserves start fading from the bank accounts and consumers stop flinging money at over-priced crap.

we'll see what happens after christmas when we're all extra broke!! But it'll be going down for at least 2 or 3 years. Same situation all over the world really.
