No. If you have a photo driving licence, that will do. Officially, no documents are required to travel in the common travel area but in practice you can't get on a plane without official id.

I think it might be a little small and draughty - you could try a plane instead.

You'd better have all your documents up to date or you won't get in, especially with all the extra security these days.

Bloke Ala Sarcasm
It shouldn't be, though I'm sure some slip through the net.

You SHOULDN'T be able to fly even within the UK at all, let alone outside.

Oli T
No, but you can on a valid driving licence!

i did think when i flew from Newcastle to Dublin it could be done with photocard driving license but when i checked with travel agent they said no it must be a valid passport, you can go to northern ireland with photocard license but cant pass the border check with who you were thinking of booking with and if they say its ok go for it

leah g
as long as you have photo id you will be fine

You don't need a passport to fly from the UK to Ireland. Just bring photo ID eg. a driving license.

you wont be able to fly anywhere on an invalid passport , but if you have a photo id driving licence you can use that.

mattysin
technically you should only need a valid i.d. to travel between EU countries so just bring your id. but i would check with your ticket agent just in case
