You can still exchange them for Euro at the central Bank on Dame street or if you'd like to get some extra euro for them, there is a antiques shop on the second floor of the Powerscourt shopping center, just of Grafton street, and they buy and sell old coins and note as collectables.

Only at the Central Bank in Dublin. Elsewhere it has been completely defunct since 2002.

yes it is still passable she will have to send them to the Irish central bank in Ireland you can post to the back or call in to it i am not to sure as to the waiting to get them into euros if you call but posting takes a few weeks if all come to all they will send to you in dollers if it takes to long for you

pounds coins or notes? notes are now not legal tender, coins can be exchanged.most sellers will accept the pound as here in the north the pound is still the currency and we accept euro here in most major stores.
