Yes - the Republic of Ireland is more expensive. The people earn a fair wage now so prices have risen. The North of Ireland is still quite cheap though.

Yes very expensive. Try the north the British part and get lots more for your money.

Yes it's way more expensive than the States. It is one of the most expensive countries in the Eurozone and also because of the strong Euro you'll find that a weekend in Dublin can turn out more expensive than one in NYC!
Still, it's a beautiful country and it's worth visiting.

I really wanted to go to Ireland this summer until I learned how expensive it was. In a recent article in the NYT, I read that it is one of the worst times for Americans to visit Europe because of the falling value of the dollar. I hope that helps!

I agree with John
I heard that too......and yes its verrrry expensive here
Depends on where you visit though
Cities such as Dublin (or anywhere on the East Coast) will be much more expensive than the more rural counties on the West Coast

you never said where you are coming from, if its the US than yes, mainly because of the fall in value of your currency. But that would be the same for all 13 countries in the euro zone, not just Ireland
