Is it true that there are no snakes in Ireland?

I heard this was because there was too much lyme in the ground.SO are there really no snakes at all there?

there are no snakes in ireland because ireland broke off from the rest of europe before snakes moved to northern europe towards the end of the ice age, the only true native animals are red deer andwild boar all the rest were brought by mesolithic settlers from europe. (i did my degree in irsh archaeology) Or alternatively believe that St. Partrick banished the snakes from ireland

yes 'tis true.... snakes cannot survive the cold.... and even if brought into the country could not survive for long.

NAHHHH ME Darlin!!! Way back when St. Patty himself walked this earth.. HE Called the DRUIDS "SNAKES"!! and he and his converts KILLED or did away with them all!! Was a sad day!! SO!! St. Patty --got rid of all the "SNAKES" in Ireland.... TIZ a true story it is..

There are no snakes in Ireland. According to legend, St Patrick chased them all out. Since there never were any snakes in Ireland, that must have been a very easy job
