there are no snakes in ireland because ireland broke off from the rest of europe before snakes moved to northern europe towards the end of the ice age, the only true native animals are red deer andwild boar all the rest were brought by mesolithic settlers from europe. (i did my degree in irsh archaeology) Or alternatively believe that St. Partrick banished the snakes from ireland |
