yes it is, as a surname.
It is common in Connaught, (west) and Tipperary. It is also a varient of MacKee and MacKay.

A lot of Irish names were severely anglicised. Mackey is a derivative of Mac/Mc Kay/Kee or McGhee.

Yes, but it's more of a sir name e.g McDonald, Mc'Kendal etc.

MacKey or MacKay is a Scottish name. You should also have asked ..Is MacKey an Irish name?...

Incorrect spelling and grammar is a sign of immense laziness.

It is definately not!!! If you are talking about the Irish family name like Mc Kee then it is but the name you gave is definately not one.
