Scotland and Ireland are two different countries on two different islands. Try looking at a map once in a while!

Podge and Rodge Tribute Band
Scotland is in West Cork

Scotland is one of the countries which make up Great Britain and also the United Kingdom.

Great Britain = England Wales and Scotland
U.K. = the countries of Great Britain plus the 6 counties of Northern Ireland. That's why it is called The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

The Republic of Ireland is a country in it's own right (and a beautiful one at that) and has nothing to do with Scotland other than that they are in close proximity to each other on this big planet of ours.

Yes. Scotland is in the south of Ireland near Dublin. Its a small village most unheard of. Well done for noticing this place.

They are two different countries, but they do have a lot of history in common. The name of Scotland came from a tribe in what's now Northern Ireland, the Scotti, who went over to what's now Scotland to help the local population keep out the Romans. Until the early 1900s, inhabitants of the Scottish Highlands who spoke Gaelic were known as 'Irish' and for quite a long time Scottish and Irish were considered almost the same.

However, we know we are not. But that doesn't stop us sharing great songs and tunes.

By the way, the population of Ireland is NOT primarily Celtic - Celts were late arrivals from Europe, they only came to Ireland at around 1000 BC, less than 7% of modern Irish people have Celtic DNA - most of us are descended from a much older race, with some Northern African, Mediterranean, Iberian and other bits in the mix.

Its as much to do with Scotland as Peru has with Bolivia,

So, in short, no, different country, currencies, government etc etc etc

No, Ireland is an island of the coast of Britain. Ireland consists of two parts Northern Ireland which is part of Britain and The Republic of Ireland which is a separate country.

Britain consists of England in the south, Wales in the west and Scotland the northern part of the country.

No. they share similar ethnicity in that current population is primarily celtic. The theory is that, about 800-1000 A.D. the Irish colonized or immigrated, depending on your point of view, the area now known as Scotland. The Picts, from whence is generally ascribed the wearing of woad blue, kind of full body cammo, were there first and eventually interbred with these people, and the Viking, or Danes, to produce the people there at present.
Scotland is in the North of the United Kingdom and Ireland is in the West of the same.
