I was born a catholic but have recently started attending the church of Ireland. A few facts:

(i) The Queen is not the head of the church of Ireland. The (Church of Ireland) Archbishop of Armagh is.

(ii) The Archbishop of Canterbury is not the head of the church of Ireland. The (Church of Ireland) Archbishop of Armagh is.

(iii) Whilst the Church of Ireland is what is broadly described as an "Anglican Church" it is not a British church any more than the Roman Catholic Church in Ireland is an Italian church.

(iv) It is unfortunately true that over one hundred and fifty years ago the British government who controlled Ireland at the time passed laws that made it advantageous, to say the least, to be a member of the Church of Ireland, but this was a long time ago, and it was the British government, not the church, but these things live long in the collective memory and
stories lose nothing in the telling.

(v) It is also true that they are many people in the UK that cannot see the difference between the IRA and the Roman Catholic church, this is equally as wrong as equating the Church of Ireland and the British government.

Hope this helps

it is run by the Germans as the head of the church of England is the Queen

j_emmans
The head is a prophet from the middle east and his 'spirit' with the help of 'Abba' of Father God.

justhetruth
Actually the head of the Anglican church is supposed to be the queen of England.
