Is the HSE run by a bunch of gobshytes?

I work with a fella who used to work for the HSE. He's a management accountant, he said he spent his days doing up charts, graphs, plans etc to show how they could save money and streamline operations, he'd present his finding, they say 'that's grand', and forget about it. Gobshites is the word.

All our money is going to admin, not to patient care. And when they do try to change anything the unions say 'we can't have that' ARgggghhh, don't get me started. I'm off to St Vincents on Thursday for a scan, I'll let you know how long I'm left waiting, or worse still, how far someone had to travel to be left waiting for half the day.

Absolutely but in their defence the last place I'd go looking for confidential medical files would be a field in Cork they should have claimed it was deliberate but they have no sense, that Mary Harneys no it quick enough of the mark. Do you ever get the feeling that her career is going to end with a public lynching?

Yes they are. They've gone and lost all my vaccination records that I need for applying for my US Visa. I'm going to have to get them all again now. Damn HSE.

Yes. A small example but they sent me out to Nenagh General Hospital last week to have a scan (expecting my 1st baby!) and Nenagh hospital doesn't even have that facility! I had to drive 45 miles out there...to be told that they made an error and rescheduled my appointment for 5 days later!
Luckily I made a fuss and they sent me into Limerick the same day for a scan and they treated me like royalty after fecking up :)

I reckon so. It seems that they all have a Royal hard-on for risk assessments. Every "risk" must be "assessed", even the potential risks resulting from carrying out a risk assessment e.g. potential that pen could leak ink onto skin whilst writing, danger of paper cuts whilst handling paper on which risk assessment is to be written.

Worked for the HSE last year till they ended contracts of all temporary contracts because they went over their budget by millions.... thats still not fixed
