North Down is lovely. In fact, that area is quite posh. You will find Northern Ireland, and especially that area to be very safe and beautiful. I am not sure what part of N. Down you will be in, but I have been in Newtownards and Holywood, and they were both fantastic places. The Ards Penninsula is also very lovely. You will be close to Belfast city, which is handy for shopping, nightlife, and travel (via rail to Southern Ireland, ferry to Scotland, or flights to England and Scotland). Belfast Intl airport near Antrim has flights to the Continent, which are often cheaper than flights departing from England or Dublin. I think you will also find the cost of living lower than in London. Belfast is a surprisingly small city (esp. compared to London), and it is a very safe city. The people in Northern Ireland are lovely, and you will quickly meet many new friends. Good Luck!

Anthony, you're an ********.

Yes, come on over to Ireland, as a European you can live anywhere in Europe, including Ireland.

Plenty of foreigners do - Polish, Dutch, German, French, Czech .... so why not English?

Yes Co. Down is beautiful and a very safe (and desirable) place to live.

Down is a lovely Irish county. It's safe and not too far from big towns like Dundalk and Monaghan.
They have a good Gaelic football team and lovely scenary, like the Cooley mountains.
There are quite a few English people living throughout Ireland (as well as other foreigners) and there's no problem.

Also, the only mainland Irish people refer to is Mainland Europe

Goto Belfast as half is in CoDown and half in CoAntrim now is'nt that confusing?

ME!!!

Yes , I love my country, Its pretty much the same as England, But it's harder to get jobs and big oppurtunities because it's much smaller. It's a very cultural Place :] Like Everyones really friendly, and In your street / village You know EVERYONE. I live in Belfast.

And Yes its extremly safe. Every otehr country still seems to think there are wars i nthe streets ove here. But there isn't. In fact it's safer than England. MUCH SAFER. You'll only ever really get into trouble if you are part of a paramilatry, Which I'm sure you aren't. I've lived here my whole Life and the only time something bad has happened near me is a few years ago , Protestants and catholics broke out in riots o nthe streets, But that was in a high paramilitary zone. and In between 2 extreme estates on the edge of town LOL. But thigns liek that happen everywhere, Most people I've met whove moved from mainland UK say they lvoe it here. Everyone is very welcoming.

There is alot of chavvy youth about is the only thing :] But they all live incertain estates. And don't leave them. I'm sure you wouldn't move into a full estate anyway.Thats were all the women walk about in their pyjammas, and stone buses etc :]

But like i say, Thats only certain areas around belfast suburbs. Theeres absolutley NONE of that outside belfast even by 1 or 2 miles. When you get to villages outside the city its way different . You'll find no trouble there.

So COME OVER:]
It's great.

Email Me If you want more info on anything :]
