maybe visit conemara and the burren area. Also there are a lot of little islands off the coast that you would be very different from the mainland.
And any of the mountain ranges i guess..i like the Comeraghs in Co. Waterford

You could go to the highlands in Scotland...its cheap enough to fly from ireland to scotland.

Hi, American here. Loved that movie myself.

Alaska is stunning, I think everyone should go at least once. (Sara Palin notwithstanding - ugh) I am not sure that Ireland has any areas quite as remote, as it is a pretty small island. You can't get too far from things, and the terrain is not as unforgiving. Alaska is very wild and sparsely populated. It is our biggest state, which is something when you consider that our second biggest, Texas, is larger than the country of France.

Why not go up into the Sperrins? Or camping in Donegal? Not exactly the same, but then again, less wildlife that will try to eat you.

Sshhhh! It's Podge and Rodge

Try Moyross.

Go in Blackhead close to the cliffs of Moher, Perfect place to drop down someone you don't like. It's a very wild at look place.
