Podge and Rodge Tribute Band

Is this the GAA's idea of a joke?

Have ya heard the latest hare-brained scheme that the GAA have come up with in order to curb our perceived liberal drinking?
Sever all ties with Guinness apropos of sponsoring the Hurling Championship? NO
Discourage the use of GAA Clubhouses and Bar Pavilions for parties and socials? NO
Begin a nationwide advertising campaign alerting people to the dangers of the demon drink? NO

They're only going to drill holes in the Sam Maguire and Liam McCarthy Cups to stop them being filled up with booze as part of post-match celebrations!!!

Is it April 1st already?!!

What a load of Cr@p! God almighty, why do it always have to be so dramatic!?

Could they not just ASK the players not to drink alcohol from it? I mean, drilling holes the cup is a bit drastic!

If they follow through with this, they should start the new tradition of pissing in the cup! Ha! That would teach them.

has to be a joke, funniest thing I heard in years. may as well stick a few extra jewels on the Ardagh chalice, or scribble in translations on the book of Kells.

Timely
Bring lots of chewing gum to plug the holes! Cheers!

westmeath not playing in the Leinster hurling

Christine

Its ridiculos, although iam so not a fan those cups do have a history for ireland.I think the only way to stop future generations binging is to stop all the glam advertising and for parents to be more liberal, introduce alcohol in the home when theyr 15 16 or what ever a glass of wine with dinner teach them to enjoy it and not just sewe it as some thing u use to get pissed!! A lot of paerents ban it completly then wehen the kid hits 18 bam straight to the pub!!!

Tommy2cans
Its the latest invention to let more than one person drink from the cup!!!

But seriously what are they thinking
Gaa would be better off apposin all these latest health trends and will they bring the physicality back into the gaa never mind giving frees and yellow cards for touching a player

Podge and Rodge? You do realise Mick O' Hara(Rodge) tried to kill himself. He tried to commit suicide after the Meteor Awards they presented?
Oh, and who cares about the gaa? They don't realise we will stop watching the gaa if they keep it up!
