The only way you would be likely to get housework and babysitting jobs would be through word of moth by your parents and people you actually know, because most people would be unwilling to leave someone they didn't know in their house unsupervised.
Your best option is to try word of mouth by getting your parents to ask around to see if anyone has any jobs for you, or going into your local town/village and asking in cafes and restaurants if they would let you do some table clearing and washing dishes.
Some supermarkets take on under 16's to do tasks such as shelf stacking and bagging groceries.
Just be aware that due to the fact that you are under 16, you have no minimum wage, so basically they can pay you whatever they feel like paying. You are also restricted to how many hours you can work. For more info see: http://direct.gov.uk/en/YoungPeople/Workandcareers/Yourrightsandresponsibilitiesatwork/DG_066272 |

1. Don't go to Lurgan, its not exactly safe at the moment. :)
2. Rushmere? There is plenty of shops there that might take you on?
3. If you like pets and are willing to possibly walk dogs, go to jolley's in lurgan and put an add up on the wall, you might get some callers?
4. Ask parents friends if they need a babysitter, i did that and it worked.
Hope i helped.

I know Magheralin and think your best bet would be Lurgan or Moira. I imagine babysitting is a hard thing to get into (would you leave your baby or children with a stranger?) unless you know the parents - for example neighbours. What about doing up a little flyer stating that you can do some gardening, car cleaning, housework at £x per hour. I live in Warrenpoint, I'm sorry, otherwise I could recommend people around here. Best of luck to you. |

It is actually against the law to employ anyone under 16 in Northern Ireland so shops may be reluctant to take you on. Babysitting would be your best bet. |

There are loads of sites online that pay you to fill in a surveys.
Minimum wage for 14 is, like, £2 a hour. Filling in surveys gets you way more, and they're really easy.

Go to hair dressers ask if there are any saturday jobs - cleaning, sweeping, making drinks etc. Perhaps with opportunities to progess to washing hair etc.
Clean for people - houses, cars. Perhaps ask family/family friends.
Get a paper round - ask in local paper shops. I'm sure they will have some. If not, ask in local chip shops/paper shops/clothe shops/super markets/cafes etc if they have any saturday jobs.
Obviously because you're only 14 you will only be able to do a couple of hours but its a wage. |
