You can take the train (www.irishrails.ie)... the bus will take forever. You can also check http://www.aerarann.com/ for rates, you might get flights cheaper than the train and be there in one hour. Kerry Airport is between Killarney and Tralee and I am sure there is public transport to take you to Killarney from the airport.

Bus is such a long journey.....When my boyfriend was studying in tralee i had to get a bus from Waterford to cork then another bus from cork to Tralee...took over 4 hours!!
