North or South...;
Eire is beautiful, I have spent many happy holidays there especially in County Galway. I have family living in County Dublin which is also a lovely area but a lot busier than the country areas I love.
I have never been to Northern Ireland so cant comment on that.

i dont live in ireland but i own a home there and have been back and forth all my life 45yrs. all my family are from there. i can tell you that it is a wonderful country with a booming economy especially in real estate. i would think twice before deciding to live there permanantly unless you are currently financially stable. things are more expensive in general than you maybe used to if your from the us. many major companies set up there and stay for so long and then pull out due to tax. if they stay too long i guess its better to move on and go with whatever tax incentive they got. i invested there about 15yrs ago on a small piece of property in the west of ireland and did incredibly well. the people are wonderful and inviting but the weather is cool and damp! not always though there are beautiful days in ireland but ya wont see 90 deg. heat too often. winters are damp as opposed to white. one downfall is traffic congestion in and around cities its fairly brutal. also very important i would research their healthcare from my experience they are very slow and not at all close to the quality of health care we get here. me personally i would never want to be stricken with a serious medical condition in ireland i have seen and personally witnessed how health care operates there and was not at all impressed actually quite discouraged by it. but ireland is a beautiful country with magnificent people always ready with their warm irish welcomes. good luck.....

It depends on where you want to move to. I know Ireland is relatively small but it varies from one county to another.The midlands are nice if you like flat land but if you want a more rugged place with plenty of sea views then head for Donegal. It is beautiful there, especially in the summer.The hills , the lakes and winding roads make a journey like an adventure.

hi i moved from scotland to donegal 5 years ago i love ireland and i think it was a brilliant opportunity to move here i had a excellent education i am now in university and met my other half here the enviroment is beautiful not so much pollution and the people are really friendly sometimes too friendly!!! the only downside is the cost of it all you have to pay for everything doctors, dentist, rubbish collection the list goes on but id def make a go of it if i were you if u dont give it a chance how will u know cos you can always move back!!!!

Where abouts do you want to live ?if city life is for you try Dublin or Belfast if country life is more to your taste then try Donegal or the Mountains of Mourne / Newcastle, both places are really great and some really nice people the only let down is the weather, it is awful!! but the warmth of the people make up for that.

ireland is very nice.i've been there few times.am now in australia.
1st of all,try a good guiness in an old pub. try not to live in dublin 2,6 and 12 because its very expensive.am not discouraging you but life is more expensive than london

Ireland is an expensive country to live in.
It has become more cosmopolitan these days & many people are struggling to pay mortgages & loans - property prices are very high.
There are a lot of wealthy people (mainly from building & land) & Ireland's growth in recent years has been fuelled by the construction industry. Many foreign workers (especially from other EU countries) have come to Ireland to take advantage of this but some foreign workers are exploited whilst others have done well.
The economy has been booming but there are signs that this will change in a year or two.
Remember there are good & bad in all races & this applies to Ireland too. The scenery is beautiful at times, the weather unpredictable but not extreme.
You need to visit to see if it is for you.

I am irish and wouldn't recommend it at all. It is expensive and crime is becoming a daily occurence and racism is on the increase. Everyone wants to become the best and the richest and nobody is bothered much about others like they used to be. Makes me feel sad. I am looking forward to being able to leave it again in a few years.
