You got Killarney, large Town(By Irish Standards) and very beautiful. Then there is Dublin, quite big but easy to get out of. Loads of Jobs but high rent. Galway is alright but the rents are far too expensive for what you get, and after a few weeks its gets boring. The closest city to Galway is Limerick(which is known mostly for its stabbings), but it could also be an option as that is only a bad rumor. At first glance, Cork has it all - and maybe it does. Reasonable rents, close to West Cork(Beautiful) and a good transport service to most parts of Ireland.

Ireland doesn't really do big cities, it's a largely rural country. Right now is NOT a good time to move here, due to the economic downturn, there's been a strict tightening up of the residency and work permits issued.
If you are not an EU national, it's very complicated and more difficult to move here to live. You need to have a very specialised education, and I'm afraid that a US college degree doesn't often cut it here. |
