Oh my God, I love a Derry accent on a man. It is so freaking sexy. They could look like a pile of crap and it would not matter. I could just listen to their voice. Bliss. I never did meet one that looked like a pile of crap strange enough. Maybe their accent distracted me.
Edit: Graham Norton is from Cork. Even great county's like Cork can make the odd mistake. He is not a great example for gay men too. Most gay men are way nicer than that Graham creature. |

I love it. I also love the way most people from there tend to confirm everything at the end of a sentence: "I'm going to London, so I am." I think that's lovely. |

I think it depends on the individual voice. Regardless of regional accents, some people have very grating nasal voices.
I like the NI accent myself. |

In general I love it BUT I hate the high pitched whiney squeaky Belfast accent even the men whine like cats it's so annoying! But outside there I like it. |

well a derry accent is different from a belfast accent which is different from a coleraine accent etc etc - so which accent in particular? lots of north donegal people have a northern Irish accent - are you including those people too? |

I find it very strong, I do need to ask twice what people are saying - but this is extreme, and doesn't happen very often. It can sound more like Scottish.
I have to say it's not my favourite accent. |

Here in Co. Galway my Northern Irish accent gets slagged all the time!
I find it funny but the worst people for taking the piss out of it are my friends from England and Tallaght (North Dublin!).
Each person who makes fun of my accents slags different things (different vowel sounds etc.).
I love the N.I. accent !
Reminds me of home!

Like some have said, it depends on which sex in my opinion.
A guy hearing a guys accent(wherever it's from) obviously isn't a turn on, but I think opposite sexes are more likely to find opposite sexes accents more of a turn on.
I have family from N.Ireland, and absolutely love it! |
