POLL - Dublin or Belfast accents?

Dublin get my vote.

The South Dublin accent sounds pretentious and is more annoying than anything on earth. The Northsider Ahjaysushowyas are melodious compared to the SoCoDus (as that w@nker Barry Ego Egan from the Indo insists on labelling them - yeah Barry, you'll never be cool you cokehead).

The average Dub has a grand accent (posh Northsiders and normal Southsiders) but then again they're probably just culchies who missed the last No. 90 to Heuston Station one Friday evening and never managed to escape.

A soft Belfast accent is beautiful. A harsh one sounds like a pi$$ed off tractor chewing strips of galavanise off a rusty haybarn. But that's still better than the Dort-heads of Doblin, loike.

Dublin. I can live with the alreeeeet! But the Belfast accent just gets on my nerves. I'ts just so like oh I don't know how to explain it! It suits some people. Theres some part of it that I like. I don't like the extreme accent, the really strong one!

Well Hello there ;)!

Priscilla Duck is my hero!!

And i forgot to answer the question! Im from Dublin and the south side accent annooooys me ((Im a northsider)) yes i admit its very tidy and clean compared to some bleeden jaysus north side accents!! I like some Belfast accents some i like but do get annoying.

I come to a conclusion.. both have their ups and downs.

Dublin - the north sider one though. No offence to anybody, but I'm not a big fan of the one in which people say "lyoke" as many times as humanly possible in one sentence.
Belfast accent is nice too, but I prefer a Dub accent.

agooddub
I'm a good Dub from the northside although they make me pay my bin charges to Fingal Co. Council.
There is no difference between a real Dublin accent from northside or southdide. Compare Joe Duffy ( ballyfermot) to Gerry Ryan ( clontarf) to me they both have real Dublin accents which are very similar.
Don't like Belfast accents.

Dublin is the best by far, Belfast people sound like they are shouting at you all the time.

Both... Northern Irish accent sounds a bit like Scottish, Dublin accent is strange. There is the west Dublin accent which is horrid, the posh accent which is lovely but the most beautiful is the accent that coming from the Gaelic speaking families...

Dublin definitely

DUBLIN BY FAR!!!>.... Belfast is the wreck the head accent!!!!

Vicki - Give Priscilla best answer.

We prefer the Ardee Co. Louth accent ourselves. Have you ever heard an Ardee woman speak? It's only mighty so it is........

Don't see what this has to do with the Ireland section as Belfast is in the UK so hence isn't an Irish accent. And in any case, it drives you mad when you listen to it.

Neutral Dub accent is okay - the D4 or knack accents are pretty hard on the ear too.
