People from Dublin + Cork? |
I just read a question, it was in relation to living in Cork or Dublin. I was surprised to see some of the answers, it seems Cork people hate people from Dublin. My question is.. Is there any truth in this? an if so Why? |

No we do not “Hate” Dublin.
Us Cork people have better things to be doing, lol.
Might dislike certain accepts of Dublin culture.
It is more of the fact that it is so different to the rest of Ireland.
But there is a big difference between "dislike" and "Hate".
Saying that, if a person is nice I would not dislike them because they were from Dublin.
That would be sort of racist now, don't you think?
I don't like the accent personally, but saying that, if you are friends with a person there accent becomes less irritating. It does not sound as strong after a few years.

I'm from Dublin and I've met several Cork people during traveling etc. They seem like a nice bunch, although lets be honest here, who isn't jealous of the Dubs?!???

I'm a Dubliner, I don't hate Cork people. There tends to be friendly bater and jibing between Dubliners and Corkonians get together. certainly not hate though. We take the p.iss out of each other, for want of a better term. |

I'm from Dublin and would gladly swap lives with a Munsterian, Leinster really doesn't suit me. I didn't know they felt that way, we slag eachother over accents alot but 'hate' I don't think so |

Mmm... Hate is a strong word..
Sure we take the p*ss of of each other like but I know that some cork people dislike dubs because they think they're cocky, but other cork people love dubs..
Theres always been a bit of rivalry between us and the dubs like but i dont think it goes alot further than that |

It's not that we don't like the Dubs but we take great enjoyment out of it when we beat them in the hurling or the football.
They always need to be taken down a peg or five. |
