Problem with my passport?

I've had my passport for three years now and I've used it for travelling twice but I only noticed the other week that there is a mistake on it!

It says I was born in Kildare when I was actually born in Dublin

Is this a big problem?
Will it matter that I've travelled with a dodgy passport?
Will I have to get a new one now?

You're fine, my licence says athlone co. waterford! You don't need to worry about it. When you renew it, if it's really bothering you, you can change it.

Have you never noticed the glazed look in the eyes of people checking passports? You could have two heads and they wouldn't notice. My husband and I got our passports mixed up coming through customs once and it went completely over their heads,no notice. My husband is a black haired guy with a goatie beard,I'm a petite blonde!

Puzzledirishgirl
Wouldn't be worried but would ring them to be sure. Better check now than to be stopped sometime!

go on a site called ips it tell you every thing about passport

I wouldnt fret about it.
When you are gettin your second one just get them to update it.

Although someone may not notice, there is a chance it may come up at some time your not expecting it so i'd get it changed.

No my passport spells my name wrong and nobody ever looks all they do is check the photo and nothing else. Although i used my passport 3 times before i noticed a "u" where it should be an "a"

Something small as place you were born very minor problem as who is to question where u were born

ring the passport office and ask - they will probably reissue another one- its safer to have the details correct .

Not sure what you are worried about ! How is anyone going to prove that your current passport is incorrect ?? Do you think the Customs and Immigration people have a copy of your birth certificate in their system ???
The only info they have in their database about you are the details that were submitted when you applied for your passport !
Change the details when you re-new your passport if you want. I would ask the person who applied for your passport why they put Kildare on the form ?
