Question about Irish and Scots?

I often hear about the Irish and Scots fighting in N.Ireland and fighting in Scotland (thru Celtic vs. Ranger FCs). But, my question is, if your last name is Scottish (gaelic) and you were baptized Catholic does that make you less tolerated with the Scots and more favorable to Irish?

Reason i ask is, because I see the Scottish Catholics showing loyalty to Ireland.

The irish and scottish are first cousins,
There is a kinship with the true scottish people.

The problem is youve got some scots who prefer loyalty to the crown rather than loyalty to their own people,
Some of these scots in reward for their loyalty to the crown were given irish land during the plantation.

C'mon celtic.

how would anyone know what you were baptized as unless you told them?

english guy 1985
Im no expert but Im sure Scots Gaelic is not a Catholic thing, its part of Scottish national heritage and your religion is just incidental to that.
