Are the people answering Euros even from Ireland or are they just guessing?? Its pounds mainly! But some places might accept euros, what I do is dont exchange my money, I just keep my euros in my bank and when I withdraw it from an ATM it comes out in pounds, simple!

galpal
In Northern Ireland they use sterling, in the Republic we use euros.

Locko
In Northern Ireland they use pounds, but in County Donegal which is next door, they used Euros

Pounds Sterling.

hi
In the north of Ireland(they are part of the UK):
Antrim
Armagh
Down
Fermanagh
Londonderry
Tyrone

they use pounds sterling

in the south (republic of Ireland) they use Euros

hope this helps
(ps I am Irish living in the south)

Why When How
Nothern Ireland is part of the UK (United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland) Northern Ireland is made up of 6 counties

Antrim
Armagh
Down
Fermanagh
Londonderry
Tyrone

The UK uses the Sterling - £ British Pound.

the Republic of Ireland ues the EURO. Some people have said Euros but the plural of Euro is Euro and not Euros!!!

You will find in some border towns they accept both currencies.

Enjoy your stay

Depends on where in the North you are visiting. Northern Ireland uses pounds sterling. However they must be Northern Irish Sterling!
Other counties such as Donegal use Euro (Some counties in the North are not under British rule).

Make sure you know where you are going in the North first:

Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Londonderry, and Tyrone use Pounds!

Cavan, Donegal, and Monaghan use Euro!

Puzzledirishgirl
Definitely pounds.

when the sun goes down
you're going to come in northern ireland? LMAO
excuse my immaturity

they use pounds in northern ireland ££££
