Question for Irish People? |
There was an estimated half a million people in Dublin city centre today. Felt like it too. Why do all the country people come up altogether on the 8th of December? Seems crazy, the shops are all packed, no parking, queues everywhere. This tradition is ridiculous. Additional Details Country boy I think that spanking is in order now

It's to do with it being a holy day and the kids get the day off school hence they come to Dublin. Don't know why now a days as you can shop on-line or they have there own shopping centres to got to.
I hated that day every year when I was a kid. My auntie and cousin came up every year and we had to go to all the shops they wanted to visit.
I don't live in Ireland now and so I don't have that crazy day to deal with. |

You're ridiculous.
They can do what they like in their city, if you have a problem with it then you can shove off to another country, China maybe or Cuba...
It is just as much their city as it is yours. They probably deserve it more, seeing as you seem like a nasty person. |

i'm not irish but visiting my town centre today, i agree any tradition that means people haven't finished paying for last christmas, really should be abolished.
the point of christmas is lost on most people going by a survey conducted in the UK, most adults have no idea where jesus was born let alone why.
I doubt if a world in debt had any part in his message. |
