Mr Darcy II

Questions about Ireland. I am going on holidays to Ireland in a few weeks for St Patricks Day and was hoping?

someone could help me out.

1) As its part of the UK I can use Sterling , yes?

2) Does the Queen go through the streets during the parade?

3) Is there a tour we can take to see the Leprecauns?

4) Is it possible to hear people speak Gaelic?

5) Do I need a visa from the UK government to enter Ireland?

Many thanks for any suggestions.

Sterling? Whats that, is it a code?
The Queen of Where? No monarchy in Ireland, not since 100Ad or something mad like that
Go to any bar, order loads of drink and before you know it there will be beprecauns every where
Turn on TNG to hear Gaelic
Visa and mastercard are welcome, so you should have no probs.

Enjoy your trips !

Ah now, Hello,
If you are going to the Republic of Ireland, you will need to change your sterling cash for Euro's but you can change sterling in Ireland, but you may lose out on value, unless you use a bank.
The English Queen now, I never did hear of herself paradin' through the streets, sure, she is not so common as to be at that business now,
Leprachauns, Now these are tricky little folk, and they hide in the most unexpected of places, so you will have to be Keepin' a close eye out for them little lads, and don't be going off all disrespectful at them, or you just might miss out on three good and wonder-filled wishes, and they have been know to be concealed in amongst the parades that have happened to take place in my home town Galway, Good Luck now, when you see a one of them lads.
Well now Gaeltacht, this is a common enough way of speaking in County Galway, and the further west of Galway you wander, the more likely you will meet up with them chatterboxes, and sure 'tis a delight to be listening to them, and the speechin' goes from the youngest lads right up to the owld lads.
Now for the good news! you will be delighted to know, that you have no need of any of that 'visa nonsense' that will let you safely and soundly, onto me owld sod, so a welcome you will be,and all you need, is a form of identity, that would bear your face on it, and your UK abode, a new Drivers Licence will do, if it is of that laminated kind with your photo sealed inside it.
So now, Have your self a great time on Holy St. Patricks day, an do try to see, or even join in a parade some where. Me, Oh Well, I will be about somewhere, shakin' hands with all me own folk, and makin' sure the Guinness, and the Harp is fit for drinkin' and Playin', and maybe dancin to beat the band, well that is if herself lets me. ha ha ha ha~~~~ Bye for now and a great big Caed~Mile'~Failte' to my home land..... Good Luck Now

Your question suggests you are going to northern Ireland
as the republic doesn't use sterling and it is not part of the United Kingdom, and i very much doubt the queen will participate in the parade on St. Patrick's day. That's about all i can tell you, hope it's of some use

!!..Crazy..!!
HELLO!!!What are you on about???
1: only 6 out of 32 counties let you use sterling aka the ones in northern Ireland the counties that Belong to England!!!! The rest of the counties use the euro!!
2: Ireland is a democracy , a Republic, It has a president get the picture???THE QUEEN LIVES IN ENGLAND!! And just incase your wondering the Irish President is Mary Macaleese....
3: THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS LEPRECAUNS (dont get your hopes up please!) although for the parade there might be people dressed up as lepracauns...
4: most people speak IRISH!(Its not called gaelic) but if you want to see an irish speaking community the main ones would be:
1: The Gaeltacht inConamara, County Galway...
2: The gaeltacht in County. Donegal...
3: The Gaeltacht in Dingle, County Kerry

5: No you dont Need a Visa to Enter Ireland Definetly Not...

Im Guessing your not english because if you were you would already know the answers to your Questions..... and Good Luck because you may need it.......... :-)

Garnet
1. we're not part of the UK, its all euros now
2. no queen, maybe the president will be there, I can't remember if she goes or not
3. ...no lol-maybe some will show up during the parade
4. in gaeltacht regions mainly in the west of Ireland but if you ask around maybe someone will know a few phrases at the parade
5. not if you're a UK citizen

rosie
