Have a look at these sites.
I was born and raised in Co. Wexford, and still live nearby to Loftus Hall.
Here's a few extra bits not generally known about Loftus Hall.
Read the information above first or this won't make any sense.
The 'visitor' actually stayed in Loftus hall for a couple of weeks, and in fact became romantically involved with the young girl before being discovered. The girl, understandably, went mad, and eventually she was locked up in her room in Loftus hall, and there she died. Her ghost haunted the house for a long time afterwads. Father Broaders was unable to exorcise her, and in fact, nearly died in the attempt. Her room was eventually sealed up to contain her.
The hole in the roof that the devil flew out through was never successfully repaired. Several attempts were made, and each time, the hole re-appeared.
Loftus Hall is now empty. If you pass it during the night, you will often see a room lit up. Not strange, I know - security and all that. But the electricity is disconnected. And I personally have seen shadows cross the window. |

Yah i live right by an old castle and an old graveyard! its soooo creepy theres this one old story of a man and a woman who got married and were the gardeners and stuff for the graveyard when one day the wife caught a fever and died. and she was buried in that graveyard. years later the man had a panic attack, he had forgotten where she was buried and dug up every greve one night to find out. it was in the dark and all he had was a lamp a gas lamp. and back then the punishment for digging up a grave was death so he was killed. and sometimes when were all down at the pub we can see something in the graveyard...a small light! some say its him STILL looking for his wifes grave! |

I've seen and been spoken to by ghosts, or should I say spirits. Furness Abbey near my home is haunted and I've seen ghosts there. |

I used to work in a very old building near the Thames. I was asked to fill in for someone who worked in an even older attic bit. Every so often, as i was working, out of the side of my vision, I'd see someone in a white coat walking past, and hear them too. I thought it was my boss and got a bit cross about it because he kept going past, time and time again without ever saying anything. He only went one way, never going back in the other direction. It got to me, and in the end, I left my work and 'followed' him to see where he went, and what he was doing. THERE WAS NO WAY OUT! Yikes! How could he have got back to the other end to walk past again> answer he couldn't.
Someone I knew well saw a stage coach and horses being chased by a highway man. Guess his outdid mine big time. |

well my relatives came to the U.S. from Ireland and Scotland and there are amny, many stories about ghost and the supernatural in the both of these countries. I think it's pretty cool myself, but i'm not too freaked out by this. If ghosts are trying to have an interaction with us, then it must be for a reason. There are many castles in Ireland and Scotland with such rich histories.
BOO!!!!! |
