Nothing has changed just us Irish same as ever looking for something to complain about

2 years ago people complained houses prices were too high, how could anyone afford to buy
Now there complainin houses prices so low Economy is screwed

Milftastic who doesnt have any money?
Most people still have their jobs wages continue to decrease while the price of goods have actually gone down

No matter what people want to complain
More people on the dole But really were all not feelin the effects of the global slowdown

Oh stop complainin about the health service nothing in life is perfect just get on with it and stop moaning

Listening to the radio one morning, there was a list month by month since last January, detailing all the jobs that were lost all over Ireland - 360 in one firm in January, 1380 in 3 firms in February, etc. It made very dismal listening. There must be lots of very worried families out there. And very little hope of new jobs on the horizon.

Prices are falling - good for many of us, especially motorists (now is a very good time to buy a new car, prices slashed and petrol is cheaper every week), but for the newly unemployed, it won't be enough to make ends meet. In the small town next to mine, 7 houses were repossessed last week. I don't remember this happening before.

If all that misery wasn't enough, there was snow and icy roads in many places today. Here, it is just rain as usual.

The credit crunch thing hasn't affected me yet, but I too have tightened my belt a notch - just in case.

Things have definitely began to change, the obvious things like it being nigh on impossible to sell a property in today's market, but other things too, like, there are much more people shopping in cheaper supermarkets like Lidl and Aldi, also I read that Tesco have been selling nearly three times as much of their cheaper 'Value' range products than this time two years ago. I think theres a hell of a lot more to come though and if you ask this same question in few months or a year I bet you wouldn't get answers saying 'nothing much' or 'I don't care'. A lot of people are under the impression that the recession will only hit big money people and not normal working class people or people on benefits, and as a normal (well I wouldn't exactly call myself normal!!) working class person, it certainly will affect us.

If I lose my job, which seems very possible in the next few months, it wont be the end of the world or anything because Im single, and have no financial commitments other than my rent which would be still be a struggle, but when more people get laid off (which they will) a lot of them will be people with families and mortgages and will be unable to meet payments etc.. and there are still people saying that the recession wont affect them or they don't care... well to use a very cliched expression, people, wake up and smell the coffee!

'All changed, changed utterly'
Sher hasn't a terrible beauty been born?

If ya ask us, there's been too many Fianna Failers caught with their hands fumbling in the greasy till.
