A lot (if not all) of your answers are saying no. I disagree. Gp's are now few and far between in Ireland so a lot of them are getting picky about who they sign on,. Most will only sign on immediate family of existing members that live close by. I tried to register with my local one and they said that they are full and are not taking on ANYONE! I live just outside 'main' dublin in the county and The clinic is huge and the population of the immediate area is pretty small and I cant sign on? i don't think anyone really has a hope! |

No you don't, you can go to whatever doctor you like.
If you have a medical card you don't have to pay for visits. |

No, but if you will be using a medical card, you need to find a doctor who is willing to take on new patients. Some prefer the private patient willing to pay €55 or more each time, whereas medical card patients pay nothing. |
