Sense of humour and the Celtic Tiger? |
Is it just me, or more so in YA travel (Ireland), have some people lost their sense of humour? Did it leave with the Celtic Tiger? As Irish, I thought we had a quick wit about us, and our humour was quite original. For some other answers, its all thumbs down when someone makes a quirky comment. I personally, love nothing like a good giggle when I see a funny answer, and will always thumbs up, but seems others are very serious when answering. I got a violation notice for commenting on how funny someone's answer was, I nearly p*ssed myself laughing cos it was so quick and funny. Has everyone lost their sense of humour and tightened their humour along with their purse strings?! Additional Details Is he the "catholics have babies faster" guy? Kiss me I'm Irish, have you met second class citizen yet?! |

Tis true!! Too many people have lost their sense of humor. I have more violations against me than the Vatican has law suits!
It's very rare to find a genuine insulting answer (though they do occur from time to time). But on the whole, most answers are not abusive or directed at an individual, hence - there may be a sarcastic reply, or a humorous ditty that pokes fun at the asker - So what?? Are we all wrapped in cotton wool now? Can't take a bit of banter? Have to go crying to the Yahoo police to violate somebody who dared to have a different opinion than ourselves??
I say be damned to the wingers - carry on answering them questions as you see fit! If somebody gets offended - Log off!!!!! |

I think everyone in the Ireland section has lost their sense of humour due to Alan M offending us every chance he gets. |

Oh I totally agree. I have to stop calling people from by their first name in case someone dislikes what I am saying (view on something) and goes reporting hunting. As long as you use the humour and answer the question you cannot get one, I suppose.
Sometimes I ask the odd weird question and some people act like they have miss placed their pool cue. I still do not know the reason why single Irish men have gone ga, ga sense the Recession. I must rephrase it. That is informative information for everyone. I never make a joke about a person directly aimed at someone on yahoo answers.
But if I do make a joke some people get all ratty on me. I don’t mean comments like you are weird etc. That is grand and to be expected. If you can’t throw it don’t spill it. I mean they get very nasty. Ocahy. They personally aim the reply at me. I suspect they must still have that cue thingy in a certain place and it is preventing them from relieving their frustration. They probably would not get someone to relieve their frustrations anyway. I still do not report them. What age am I five?
I read your comment. It was very funny. Some people like being miserable up here. You can technically report it and that is where you went wrong.
If you exclude the people from the Internet in your question then I think that most people are in good form. When I am out people are in that “I am desperate in deep manure you can only laugh type of form.â€
You do meet the odd miserable idiot in non-Internet world, but I just walk away at people that put you down in a bad way.
They have issues and should sort them out.
You meet these people in non-Celtic tiger time of year and the past Celtic Tiger time of year too.
So to conclude some people are miserable up here.
I suspect because they cannot afford to get a special doll or buy a wee rabbit.
And they are too busy on yahoo answers to meet real people.
Oh the warmth of a women or a man for the rest us.
Well if we brush off them for a second in the pub that is included, right?
Edit: The best way to get rid of a person that offends, is to ignore them. Do not answer, respond or thumb down. If a person gets no reaction then they get bored and go away. That is what I find anyway.
Political Wind up artists are not funny.
They should go doll shopping.
Good sales on dolls these days. |
