They have detergent in Ireland. Why would you want to drag that along with you? They have laundromats just as anywhere else does, it won't be a problem. Just boring, as doing laundry always is.
Relax, you are stressing yourself out for nothing.
Use ATMs and credit. No point to travelers cheques, they will just be a pain.
ATM/Credit - There used to be a fee, in addition that banks would add, but there was a class action lawsuit that struck that down (in US), so all you'll have are minimal fees by your bank (can't tell you more as every bank has their own fees etc...) It is never a lot.
It'll be fine. Relax. |

Laundry powder costs like, a fiver. Would you not buy it here? Anyway, every town has a laundrette, most offer a service wash at a reasonable price (you leave your clothes, they wash them and you pick them up later). You can also do your own, it's a bit cheaper but not as convenient.
As for money, cash is the easiest, cheques are the safest, but depending on where you are going you may find it awkward to get places to exchange your cheques (hotels will do it only if you are a resident - banks close at the weekend).
I don't know about the ATM charges, but it certainly would be the best way to organise your money. |

kind of depend what accommodation you're stayin in...some hostels/hotels would have their own laundrette. most towns have laundrettes anyway so you should be grand. no dont bring detergent, save space and buy it when you're over here sure..! Personally i think an ATM card is handiest..can find atm machines all over the place..im not sure bout the last question..im from ireland and there are atm fees whenever i take money out... |

yes, the only bank charges you incur will be from your own bank, (i'm 90% per cent sure) so check with them. atms are the way to go. laundrettes everywhere. don't bring your own detergent simply because bringing laundry detergent on holiday is f#@king crazy. :) |

No we use a wash board and still clean our clothes in rivers.
You can pick up laundry detergents for dirt cheap in Aldi or Tesco, and there are no shortage of laundrettes. |
