Should I live in Dublin or Cork?

I'm moving to Ireland through a work and travel program for several months and planning on working as an Au Pair. I'm a 22 year old female and I'm looking for a young, social atmosphere so I can meet friends. I am also a lesbian so I'm looking for that community as well. Any suggestions?

Dublin's probably slightly better if you're looking for a young social atmosphere,It's got loads of good points:Good public transport, loads to do eg. shops, pubs etc.. and you've really got everything in Dublin I quess but Cork is a slightly quieter, less congested alternative but still has loads to do,good night life, again, young social atmostphere with the University and all! Although, you might find the accent a bit harder to understand at first!
Anyway, whichever you choose I'm sure you'll love it,both are ideal for what you're looking for! Good luck

Dublin is like London only smaller,if it were my choice it would be Cork as there is a great social life in Cork & a lot safer than Dublin, good transport, fab restuarants & if you are the outdoor type Cork has beautiful places to go to, there are plenty of lesbian societys in Cork, but at the end of the day its your choice & there are plenty of sites to compare the two Cities,Good luck & enjoy Ireland as its the place to be.......

its a personal decision

I spent a couple weeks in Dublin and it's the best place EVER. Everyones so diverse there (i've seen some gay people who where there) If your looking to socialize i HIGHLY suggest Dublin. There is so much going on all the time. If your into new stores they have those but they also have Temple Bar area which is full of such creative stuff. There are TONS of young people there (I'm 17) The age group there is def. mostly in 20's. It's defiantly one of those new age areas where young people go to meet each other and the shops there are fantastic. They have EVERYTHING. Theres even a bong shop hahaha which is fun just to look at. I can't even describe how amazing it is. But if you go there defiantly go to Temple Bar

Dublin!

I think Dublin would suit you better. The cost of living is cheaper in Cork, but Dublin just has a better atmosphere. (Well in my eyes anyway! ^_^)
I have no idea about the gay scene in either city, but as Dublin is about three times the size of Cork, I'd assume it's better there.

Anyways, good luck and enjoy your time here! ^_^
