Depends on what you're qualified to do. Start looking online for a job in Ireland, in any case.
The situation is not 'gone really bad'. Really bad was during the 1980s, when people were really struggling - now all that's happening is that people have to give up some unnecessary luxuries, and learn to be frugal. It's not what I'd call a 'really bad' situation. |

I personally wouldn't come back. I would look into another county, I totally understand the homesick scenario etc, but however down you are now, you will be worse when you get home. You can't even get a job in McDonalds now. I'd find another country, and try start there. The jobs are so few and far between now. They say on average, 33 people per county are signing on every day, that should tell you how bad things are. |
