but the people that were in charge then in Britain then aren't alive now so theres noone alive that is able to be prossecuted

no, who are they going to give the money to, this happened over 150 years ago, it was terrible what happened, but its done, the british have done alot of bad things to us since, does that mean they should pay for every action taken, and you could not stop there, what about the indians, the malay's and south african zulu's, all this is in the past, long in the past and all we can do is learn from it and never let it happen again..

Should the Republic be convicted of the progrom against the Protestants after the Civil War?

Should NI be convicted for the gerrymandering of Derry against the Catholics?

Should the Jewish religion be convicted of murder against Jesus?

I think it's all a bit late for all of those things. Besides, it wasn't 'England' that neglected Ireland...it was the UK government.

Should REpublic of Ireland be convicted for neglect towards the Uk during the troubles letting the IRA reside safely in their country then cross safely over the border and kill anyone they fancied. Should they pay the families of the bereaved for these losses. ? Same question. As to your question, everyone else has answered it, How far in the past do you want to go. . Noone is alive today that did it. Stay in present.

They neglected us during the famine because of the laissez faire attitude that most countries had. you'd have to convict every country in the world for neglect at some point in time. Besides the English now aren't the English of the 1840s.

We suffered many years of hardship during their reign but just 70 years after we got out independence we turned into a prosperous country! Coincidence? I think not!!

I think so, because here in the U.S.A, Texas helped all of the victims of a hurricane in Louisiana and took all of its citizens in, gave them places to stay and money for things that they might need..but were still not repaid after a couple of years now...after they get back on their feet, they should repay the government which they haven't.

So I think that England should help Ireland, but make sure they dont get chiped out of money in the payback time :/
