Should the Gardai carry tasers?

They're not firearms and the would serve much better than a batton, I personally don't see why not. Anyone?

yes, a taser is less damaging than a batton,, a taser wont fracture your skull or cause a blood clot on your brain, although seeing the guards "handle their business" against the english supporters who rioted in lansdown road was a great day, the guards did not hold back and bet the sh1t out of them. watch it

TheOtherDoomGuy
Sure y not?
Im sure they wouldnt use them at every opportunity for a while, tho....

I think they should carry some kind of a weapon other that a batton. I think it is terrible in this day and age for them to be walking around with only battons. I tell you one thing alot of people there have more then battons, (Guns, Knives) and use them! Its not right to have our guards go out and face that with only a batton.

I dont think so either if they nned them the batons are fine. I know afew gards who i wouldnt even give a baton to.

Chroist no, they're lethal enough already without any weapons
