Small automatic car what would you recommend?

Today I just wrote off my lovely 2000 gold yaris that I had since it was new. I skidded on the icy road to work and smashed in to a wall.

I would now like to buy the smallest possible car that is automatic - that I can buy.

also what year would you suggest.
I will probably get 2k for my yaris so can probably add another 2k max to that. I havnt a clue about cars so any help greatly appreciated. thank
i live in tipperary

The smallest you can get is a 2 seater Smart car. My son has one and it is so economical. Great for running around town. The one my son has is semi automatic, but you can get automatics too. They are made by Mercedes Benz.

I have your perfect car for sale!! You should look at it and see if you want to buy it - it's a Citroen C3 SX Automatic 1.4 engine - 2003 model (so not too big for you) It's a great little car - good mpg and very smart looking! I'll be sad to part but i need something bigger now as have a baby due in July :-)
Feel free to email me at bamster1285@yahoo.co.uk if you want any more info.

One thing you can do is to look on craigslist or some other site, and see how much car you can get for $2,000 and then also be sure to check the actual blue book of ANY car you buy by going to www.kbb.com

I Say, Old Chap!
I think you should get another Yaris. My mum has had hers for about 5 years and has never had a days trouble out of it. Toyota is well known as a good make of car, plus you already had a Yaris so you are used to them.

If you fancy a change I would recommend a VW Polo, mind you, you might have trouble getting a reasonably priced Automatic Polo.

Good luck anyway and sorry to hear about the accident.

i had an automatic fiesta on an 06 plate it was a nippy economical little car. it held the road like glue. if i were to go smaller again i would definitely consider another fiesta. good luck

How about the Nissan Micra. You could probably get like a 53 or 54 plate and it will have a 1.2 engine

I have a Dodge Neon, which is comfortable, economical, and reliable.

Buy a Toyota they are great on gas and easy to drive plus they last at least 300,000 miles if not more! The Toyota Corolla is a great car unless you want more luxury buy the Camry

Why don't you learn to drive properly, and get a car with gears? You'd save yourself a fortune.

You won't get a decent secondhand car for 4 grand, dear. And you're EXTREMELY unlikely to be able to get hold of an automatic car at all .... they usually have to be specially ordered.
