You have to drive a car around the place and try not to crash into anything.........

The irish driving test is a two step proces.
step 1. you need to pass a theory test, get the pass cert. and apply for a learner permit. with a learner permit, you need a person sit on your left who has a two year irish driving licence. to pass this theory test you need to learn a book which cost you 7 euro.
step 2. after 6 months of getting a learner permit, you can apply for a practical test. costing 35 euro. this pratical test is 45 mnts with 15 mnts theory + driving on irish roads and some questions on your vehicle inside out. you need to sit some professional driving classes. so when you have passed this test, forward the test cert.to motortax and you will get full irish licence.

Its great crack. You have demonstrate your ability to do a handbrake turn, you have to be able to spin donuts until your wheels start smoking and you have to be able to make your rear windsreen vibrate with the beats from the subwoofer in your boot (playing either Cascada or Tiesto, depending on whether you are male or female. If you're transgendered, you have to play Linda Martin's greatest hits).

The scoring system is 3 points for every old person you run over, 5 for a cyclist and 10 for a power-walker (they're harder to hit). 20 bonus points for skidding through a supermarket car park and shunting shopping trolleys into an '08 jeep. And if you manage to outrun the squad car that's probably on your tail, you get lifetime insurance cover from Quinn-direct.

Good luck on your test!

See how many people you can miss while driving as fast as the car can go. If you hit less than ten you pass. Then off you go on to the main highway. Enjoy.

Well you are tested generally on clutch control, signals, observation, progression, and rules of the road.

Specifically you need to know everything under the bonnet and identify them, how to change a tyre, how to reverse around a corner and how to do a turnabout in the road.

well you have to be able to drive and know the highway code and if your good enough then pass your test, simple!!

take a car with you and a size 12 shovel
