The Lisbon Treaty, you voting yes or no and why?-For Irish and anyone else whos got an opinion!?

Well, here we are again;Irelands chance to muck up the EU. With 28 % sayin "yup", 12% sayin "nope" and about 60% undecided whats it gonna be? Mind there no plan B if we reject it and nobody's quite sure what'll happen if we do!

Im one of the 60% admittedly, but in loom of Irelands ever present downturn some folks are gonna vote no. While I feel strongly on our traditional neutrality (even though under UN mandate we can NOT be in essence a neutral country as we lack the fundamental neccessities to defend ourselves like for example as the Swiss can; if ya didnt know this look it up before ya start blabbin, its fact) im still undecided.

Give us ur views and try and make a man make an honest vote!

Thanks in advance!

No

I don't like the fact the EU will be able to override the constitution of Ireland.

I think Ireland should be a sovereign nation, no more part of a Federal Europe than part of the British Empire or Commonwealth.

Who gives a toss about our neutrality?
Is this the same "neutral" country that allowed US troops and planes to stop over at Shannon?

Don't be talking to us!!!!

Our nutrality is important, it gives us some respect, US planes in shannon is not a violation as we are doing what is right for the national intrest.
when the leage of nations convened in 1918 after WW1, Ireland sent over Dev and a few others to plead with the powerfull nations to recognise irelands independance, France the US , Russia and canada woyuld not recognise that what had happened to our country during the 800 years previously was the same as what happened to the occupied countries during ww1. So our nutrality shows some maturity and was a two fingered salute to those countries who did not support us in 1918, when WW2 came around.
Although in ww2 we did hold german pows and let allied pows go, we did provide access to our airspace to the US air force to land in NI.

No to lisbon, The amount is greater than 60% who ever took that sample did not give a % confidence integral in how accurate they were.
I am standing with the farmers, its time rural ireland stood together to show europe and urban ireland that we are the most powerfull voting block in Ireland and you P1ss us off and you will pay. Farmers get a pittance for the food they produce it is the middle man who jacks up the price

I can't vote yet I'm only 16 but I believe if we do vote yes to this we will be giving Europe too much power. They will be basically be running this country and we will lose our ability to vote no. I think we are doing ok at the moment anyway, ok we have our problems but what country doesn't.
I say Daíl Eireann is where decisions for this country should be made not on a European level. Decisions should be made to benefit Ireland not Europe.

I never understood this neutrality stance. As in the world wars when the world is at risk being neutral to me is supporting the terrorists. Maybe I am wrong.
