The Red Hand of Ulster? Threat?

Irish people.... I have some Irish blood, from the west but am a proud South African. One particular answerer, Alf Garnett, keeps "threatening" me with
"Beware the Red Hand"
"The Red Hand of Ulster knows all" etc

What does he mean?

Ignore any threats. Threatening someone on the web is like hair clippers for bald people... totally useless!

Ag MJ but jy kan lieg? Didn't you once say you were actually Italian? Then a Capie? Then you were Jewish? Now you are Irish? Alf has never threatened you..............he has only warned you about the red hand. Come one now, moenie so 'n ou bangbroek wees nie!

Drinking the blood of an Irish wolfhound doesn't give you Irish blood, MJ. Nor does it make you Irish, but you do remind me of an Irish joke though.

The Red Hand of Ulster ... as far as I know he's referring to some crackpot organisation that is cashing in on the success of the bullying tactics of other organisations in Northern Ireland from both Catholic as well as Protestant extremism.

Tell him this Irish woman thinks he's hilarious .... NOT!!!!!!!
