so i was just watching 'Marco Pierre White's great British feast' tonight, and i was wondering if someone did a great Irish feast, what kind of food would be on it - starter, main and dessert?

Starter: clonakilty black pudding with sweet onion relish,
or Galway Bay oysters
.
Soup: farmhouse vegetable or seafood chowder

Main course: bacon and cabbage with mashed potatoes and parsley sauce
or corned beef, boxty (potato cakes) and colcannon
or Irish stew
or fresh cod, creamed potatoes and roast carrots and parsnips

~Dessert Baileys cheesecake
or Apple pie and cream
or bread and butter pudding.

Mmmmmmm! I'm feckin starved!

I think it would have to be smoked salmon for starters, stew for main and apple tart for dessert!

Most people gave some good answers (except for the smart alec who wrote Guinness three times), but here corned beef is something you rarely eat in Ireland because it's disgusting, and quite a lot of people DON'T drink Guinness because that too is disgusting.

There would be no cabbage and bacon and no Guiness.
Starter: Probably seafood of some form.
Main course: Stew with carrots and potato.
Dessert: Apple tart with freshly whipped cream

Stew! I think it was the Hairy Bikers I watched make a stew with some Irish travellers. I can't even remember what was in it but it looked SO nice. I'm hungry just thinking about it.

down here in the peoples republic of cork a bowl of soup tripe and dressen and crewbeans so you dont get confuse with the spilling and need you ask what dessert is a pint of Murphy's
