I agree the biggest ethnic group coming over here to live are the british (Fact), next thing you know the national dish will be jellied eels and we will all be wearing shiny buttons on our jackets, working on the market asking people to look after the stall, have shite pubs with slot machines being the only atmosphere, over rating our national teams, been beaten by india in hurling(cricket), oh yea and everyone will hate us. |

yes i do think their a lot of them but you really could argue that point sooooo much.
.....like if the if the big multinational companies that we buy all our products from, didnt exploit third world people so much, then foreigners wouldnt want to come to richer countries so much.........
we're creating it ourselves you know, but absolutely, there a lot of them here. |

I'm an American with dear friends in Ireland. According to them, the Irish economy is so upwardly mobile that foreign workers are necessary to fill all those jobs.
I think many non-Irish also see Ireland as a land of opportunity, much like they once saw the United States (and let's face it, no one wants to move here anymore.) I can't imagine a more pleasant place to live than Ireland and I wish I were able to become one of those "foreigners"...I do hope however that the character of the country never, ever changes. |

Welcome them! Didn't we take advantage of buoyant foreign economies often enough??? In fact we still are. The world is small, and people travel, and our people have been moving abroad for generations, and doing alright out of it too. |
