Róisín

To the Irish in America and the Americans in Ireland.......Help me please!!?

I'm sending a parcel of "Irish food" to an American family we met on holiday. By this I don't mean traditional Irish meals, just the sort of stuff we buy and use every day, chocolate, potato bread, taytos etc.

I don't want to waste money posting stuff they have anyway, so if any Irish people in America could tell me what they miss, or any Americans in Ireland could tell me what you really like that you can't get at home, I would be really grateful.

You should send Tayto definitely, and Cadburys chocolate...you can get it in the States, usually in stores where they sell "Authentic English Food" but it's never the same as the stuff in Ireland...I think it's made somewhere different, and always tastes sort of stale.
Barry's tea!! I cannot believe I forgot that - always bring a box when I go away!!

Tatyo, kings, skips, snax, monster munch.
Bounty bar, moro, lion bar, cadburys dairy milk, flakes, crunchie, turkish delight, jelly tots, fruit pastelles
Barrys tea, ribena,
Mikadoos, kimberlys, jammy dodgers, hob nobs

Getting hungry now! :-)

I love the McVities Carmel biscuits personally, Crisps are better in Ireland. Bacon and sausage, if you can afford the shipping costs!

KOD
Tayto's! Cadbury's chocolate! The chocolate in the U.S. is like eating cardboard.....your bacon is the best! We can get "canadian" bacon here which still is not as good or as thick as the bacon in Ireland but the canadian bacon costs the bomb! Two tiny a** pieces for like 8 dollars, ridiculous!

Feivel JPAA
Yeah Taytos, oxtail soup mix, parnsip soup mix, hula hoops, Goodalls steak sauce and supernoodles curry.
Great, now I am hungry. Thanks ROFL

smilingireland
Barry's tea, tayto, King, Green and Blacks organic chocolate(not Irish I know, but very much missed all the same), mikado, fig rolls, kimberley biscuits, soda bread (or the packet that you just add water to and bake). Can't forget jammie dodgers!
If they have kids then send on some jelly tots, dolly mixture and buttons.

chrissytimebuds
You should send Tayto, and Cadburys chocolate (ahh--a taste of Heaven :), the blue Hellman's sauce for burgers, Kimberely's, Milkadoos, GOOD scones, etc.
Really anything, I'm sure they'll appreciate it

kto
when my grandma went back to ireland, she brought back these coconut cookies that i absolutely loved. Also, when my cousins came over here to visit they brought yellow bon bons. I would suggest both of these!

There is no point sending her a parcel.

Potatoes originated in America so we already have everything you eat.
