You will need a passport, but you will not need a visa. you will fill out an information sheet on the plane. See website below, enter your nationality and destination, and click for the info. It will tell you that you do not need a visa. Have a great trip.

CPG
All you need to do is buy your tickets and bring them together with your passport to the airport, check-in and then board the plane.

As an Irish citizen you do not need a visa. On the plane you will get a green card to fill out, this is known as an I-94 Arrival/Departure record (you can see a sample copy of this in the website below).

The bottom half (departure) of the I-94 will then be stamped and stapled into your passport by a customs and immigration officer when you arrive. Keep your passport and the I-94 safe.

Don't forget to hand in the I-94 when you depart the States!

Where are you travelling from? What's your nationality?

Why are you asking this question here? Contact the Irish Embassy or Irish Consulate in your country. They'll tell you exactly what you need to do, and how much time you'll need for it.

hello,
Citizens of Ireland do not need a visa to United States for a stay up to 90 days. so your passport will be quite enough to travel to the United States.

Remember though you will be finger printed and I think they take a picture of your eye when you land.

When I went to the sates a few years back 2004 I had to fill in a form on the plane. Then when I finally got to integration they ask me if I was visiting for business or pleasure. Then they stamped my passport. Remember to bring a pen so you can fill the form in.

Another thing my brothers girlfriend was told she couldn't fly to the States because she over stayed her visa the last time by one day yes one day. She was on an Irish passport and so am I.
