When we were there we stayed at a little B&B in Lucan which is a bit outside Dublin. I can't recall the name, but it was quite lovely. It was near a pub called Courtney's at which we had a really great time. I'd definitely recommend a B&B. We stayed at serveral while we were in Ireland, and the hospitality at each and every one was first-class.

In Dublin, I'd be sure to see Trinity College, the history museum and the Guinness brewery. (we missed the brewery because of a bank holiday.)

I have visited Dublin on numerous occasions and always stay at the Arlington hotel, Bachelors Walk, very close to everything. You must go to the Guinness Storehouse and have a glass of the black gold in the bar at the very top of the building, the view of Dublin is fantastic. I have also taken a train to Kilkenny from Dublin a few times, the train service is good and cheap. I stay in a pub that has a few rooms, it's in the high street, a short walk from the station. Most of the best bars are situated in the Temple Bar area, beware, it gets very very busy. You will also find some fantastic Irish Restaurants in Temple Bar, also beware, I always have to book a table as they get very busy. Enjoy the Guinness, the live music and the atmosphere. Have fun x

look for hotels/hostels located in Dublin 1 and 2. (those numbers are like their postal code system) thats city centre.

Dublin - Great place to go, head for the Temple bar area that's where the livliest bars are all do live irish music, I've stayed at Blooms hotel it's central reasonably cheap and clean. Nearly all the pubs in that area have something going on but I can recommend Oliver st john Gogartys, for the music and great food and great Guinness.

if i was you i would stay in the beacon hotel in sandyford!it nearby dundrum shopping centre where there is a great night life and the luas(tram) is a ten min walk which goes into stephens green in dublin city>>>once you get of there your in town so you can go sight seeing......hope you come to dublin and have a great time...lol

We stayed at the Ariel house, its in Landsdowne, not far from the main area, we basically walked to the heart of Dublin, its a bit more then what your looking for price was but definately worth it for the accommodation and the food. I would have to say make sure you go through St. Stephens it is an unbelieveable park, we saw a play going on in the middle was awesome, check out the mall right across the street and then, when you come out you can go through O'Connell Street and just go every where. I would go to the Post Office, I know its not much now but was a big part in history and I went in and got a stamp from there. We wanted to but didnt get a chance to hit the Guiness or the Bushmills or Jameson factory but is a must, I also wanted to check out the Kilmainham Jail but didnt get to go there either, we only had a day. Aww have fun!!! So jealous..want to go :) cheers

i had a trip to Dublin one years ago.itÂ´s a fantastic City (but full of cars).So itÂ´s better to drive by public vehicles.To park the car into the town is very expensive.You must go down the Conolly Street.There`s a lot what you can see.Very interesting are the Trinity College,Guiness,the Dublin Castle,christ Church and St.Patrick`s Cathedral.the people in Dublin are allways friendly.I couldn`t find the hotel and a Security man escort me there.

I would recommend that you stay in the centre of dublin so you dont have to bother with buses etc.

I usually find hostels to be cheap, cheerful and centrally located. Barnacles hostel in temple bar is in the centre of all the action. I stayed in another barnacles hostel and it was very good.

Another hostel is paddy's palace just off o connell street, which is also very central.

Things to do:
-Have a pint in guiness brewery
A walk up o connell street
-shopping on grafton street
-an ice cream in st stephen's green park (top of grafton street)
-visit trinity college grounds, very old and nice & visit the book of kells, which is on the grounds aswell.
-toury things:
-a tour bus for a day....hop on hop off very good for getting to places like
-kilmainham jail
-national museum (free i think)
-natural history museum (same).
-dublin castle
-dublin zoo (a bit far out)
-guinness brewery (have a pint!)
.....basically the places u want to go. honestly, im from dublin and wud have no idea how to get to some of those places.

Another thing i would HIGHLY recommend if in any way u cud get there is a trip to johnny foxes pub, (the highest pub in ireland) absolutely brilliant, atmosphere great and they usually have irish dancers performing while u have ur dinner/drinks!

Remember patricks day in ireland will be very busy....book accomod soon!
