For you, as British passport holder, no.
For your friends who are South African and Malawian, if they are currently residing in UK already then they would already have the prerequisite visa to remain in UK and Northern Ireland is part of UK, so they don't need additional visa either.
If you and your friends are not currently residing in UK, you still won't need a visa, and same for your South African friend. However your Malawian friend is a visa-requiring national, and will therefore need to apply for one.
@ Gandalf : they're going to Northern Ireland, not the Republic of Ireland. |

Northern Ireland is part of the UK, right? So you don't need one.
If your friends already have whatever documentation they need for the UK, then they OBVIOUSLY don't need any for Northern Ireland.
Did you not learn ANY geography or history? |

The UK and most of the European countries do not require there nationals to obtain a visa to travel to Ireland (Check the state is a member of the EU)
Apart from the above, you'll probably need a visa. |

yeah i think the people how hold south african and malawian passports might need visas for coming to northern ireland, but not for the south of ireland as far as i know |

Citizens of certain countries require a visa to travel to Ireland
this will help you
not needed from SOUTH AFRICA or MALAWI

opps this info is for Ireland not northern Ireland but as you are already in the uk and not flying in from abroad all your friends
documents will cover northern Ireland |
