If you are a British Citizen you only need photo I.D. to travel, wether you are travelling North or South, but your passport is OK anyway, other EU countries might insist on a longer validity date but not Ireland for UK citizens ; )

Look up the terms and conditions on any airline web site, like ryanair, aer lingus, british airways etc.

you should be fine with it both north and south. You should however apply now for the renewal of it as it takes considerable time to get it done.

Hibee
Your passport is still valid as ID. No validity extension required for ROI.

passport should be renewed if you have less than 3months validity left upon your return journey. However, if your travelling to Northern Ireland you only need ID such as a picture driving licence to travel.

Les
Yes as long as you return before April

No your passport is valid within Europe and the UK until the date is out on the passport itself

If you were going to the states or oz you would need at least six months vadility on your passport from your return date

familyunit156
You need a new one ok.

If your are British, your passport is fine. In fact, if you fly to Belfast and cross the border overland, nobody will check your passport. If you fly, you might get your passport checked.

Phone the passport office where you are and ask them.

I would think that it would be good until April, but you should go ahead and apply for a new one, the wait for them is a little longer now because everyone that leaves the U.S. has to have one.

Northern Ireland or Southern Ireland?
